Outrun Analytics CLI

Your analytics.
One install away.

Install oa to get a local analytics environment for you and your AI agents. The CLI bundles its tool runtimes, so you don’t need to install Python, DuckDB, or dbt separately.

Install for your system

Run the command for your system in a terminal. The installer detects your platform, downloads the latest release, and verifies its SHA-256 checksum before installing.

macOS & Linux

Apple Silicon and Intel Macs · Linux ARM64 and x86-64

Terminal
curl -fsSL https://outrunanalytics.com/install.sh | sh

Windows

Windows x86-64 · Run in PowerShell

PowerShell
irm https://outrunanalytics.com/install.ps1 | iex

The installer sets up your local DuckLake and workspace, and installs the Outrun Analytics agent skill for Codex, Pi, and Claude Code. There’s no separate initialization step.

Verify your installation

Open a new terminal, then check the CLI and your workspace:

Installation checks
oa --version
oa doctor --json
oa etl list --json

oa doctor --json reports your installation checks, active versions, and workspace paths. Your data lives in ~/.local/share/outrunanalytics by default on macOS and Linux, or %LOCALAPPDATA%\OutrunAnalytics on Windows.

Terminal cannot find oa?

On macOS and Linux, commands are installed in ~/.local/bin. The installer adds it to ~/.zshrc when needed; restart your shell to load the change. For the current shell, run:

macOS / Linux PATH
export PATH="$HOME/.local/bin:$PATH"

For other shells, add that directory to PATH in your shell’s configuration file. On Windows, add %LOCALAPPDATA%\OutrunAnalytics\bin (or the custom directory reported by the installer) to your user PATH, then reopen your terminal.

Keep the CLI up to date

Get the latest release while keeping your lake data, pipelines, credentials, and state:

Update
oa update --non-interactive

To reinstall the active release, run oa repair --non-interactive. DuckDB extensions may need an additional download on first use.
